Destiny 2’s Festival of the Lost finally makes the Infinite Forest worth revisiting

Trekking through the Infinite Forest felt more like a slog than an actual adventure, with its supposedly random simulations of possible timelines being predictable gauntlets of enemies. The latest incarnation of the Festival of the lost changes all that, for the better. Not only is Destiny 2 really taking advantage of the season of spookiness, it’s also offering players a remix of an underutilised area that deserves better.

Star power can help sell a game, but the other side of that coin flip also reveals the various hazards of working with a cast of established Hollywood actors. Overinflated egos, premium salary costs and creative differences are just a few of these drawbacks, something that Rockstar Games is well aware of these days.

The franchise that popularised it all, Skylanders, is on indefinite hiatus. Both Disney Infinity and LEGO Dimensions were cancelled – so Ubisoft’s late entry into the segment is curious. That game is Starlink: Battle for Atlas, a new release that has players mounting spaceships on their controllers, bringing the changes they make to those ships to life in the game.

Red Dead Redemption 2 will have more than 50 guns to collect and customise

Sleek, elegant and somewhat sophisticated in its brutal application. The old west had plenty of other weapons that were equal parts fine art and murder tools, but seeing a six-shooter that could be embellished with ivory handles or subtle engravings made for a weapon that always felt unique in the hand of its owner. In Red Dead Redemption 2, there’ll be plenty of guns to choose from, which can also be augmented to both cosmetic and utilitarian purposes according to Rockstar Games.
