In case you didn’t notice, I spent quite a huge chunk of my weekend writing (what I hope is) a funny and suitably meta review for Deadpool, so it would make me really sad if you haven’t read it. And for those of you puppy-kickers who haven’t (please go read it… pretty pretty please), let me save you the effort: …
After we came down from the high of that first surprise trailer for 10 Cloverfield Lane hitting us out of nowhere, we quickly realized that (no surprise!) we actually knew very little about the JJ Abrams produced “blood relative” to 2008’s monsterapalooza Cloverfield. But during this weekend past’s Superbowl a new trailer was dropped and now… Well, actually we don’t know much …
I’m not a big fan of The Shining and in fact, (and this might get me a lot of hate) I’m not a big fan of much of Stanley Kubrick’s work at all. It’s not that he doesn’t have flair and style, he packs that in bucket loads, it’s that for me he has always missed the most important part …
It's all in the Bat-family this time, as the most dysfunctional team of bat-themed vigilantes has to track down a certain caped crusader who has gone dark.
One of the biggest issues with studios trying to put together these massive super hero ensembles like Marvel’s The Avengers, is how to introduce all the characters in a subtle way that doesn’t overwhelm the viewers with too much information all being revealed at the same time. Marvel did this really well by establishing the characters over several movies before …
Star Wars: The Force Awakens may no longer be perched at the very top of the box office charts, but that doesn’t mean that it’s not still a… force to be reckoned with. While this past Superbowl weekend saw it only able to muster up a fourth place worthy $6.89 million domestically, that was still enough to grant it the …
I’m watching Gods of Egypt this Thursday coming and I cannot wait! I think. The reason for my confusion is that up until now I thought the upcoming Alex Proyas directed fantasy action adventure looked like a gold-plated pile of poop. I do so love terrible films for always inspiring me to new creative writing heights, and boy, it looked like this …
I’m really enjoying the comic book craze in Hollywood at the moment. I have my fears that they are overdoing it and we will start to get burnt out and inundated with average films, but at the moment, each film and studio is bringing their best into these movies. I’m also enjoying how they are continuing to explore the deeper …
A spooky European village. Properly scary castle mania. Vampires. Werewolves! The only thing more frightening, is a glimpse at your empty bank account when it comes to deciding whether or not you can grab Resident Evil Village this month. Capcom's successor to its long-running survival-horror franchise is finally out, and if you've read our review then you know the game is a winner on multiple levels.
