The Super Duper graphics pack might be dead, but Minecraft is getting Ray-tracing support

By Geoffrey Tim

It was just last week that Mojang announced the cancellation of its Super Duper graphics pack for Minecraft had been cancelled. According to the developer, the pack was cancelled because it “proved too technically demanding to implement as planned.” That doesn’t mean that the game won’t be getting a shiny upgrade in the near future. Unfortunately, that upgrade will only be available to those whose graphics cards support real-time raytracing.

Destiny 2 is planning a major PvP overhaul once New Light and Shadowkeep launches

By Darryn Bonthuys

in :  Gaming

It’s not that it isn’t fun from time to time, but it seldom reaches the highs of Destiny 1’s amazing multiplayer. Time to change all that, as Bungie has some big plans for the future of its multiplayer mode.

The last great hope for Bioware to return to pride of place in general gamer consciousness is the fourth Dragon Age game, Dragon Age: The Dread Wolf Rises. Announced officially at the end of last year, we know very little about the direction the new game is going. We do, however, know which direction the game’s lead producer is going: out the door.

After the recent fiasco surrounding the Iron Crown event pricing fiasco, Apex Legends developers Respawn Entertainment offered an apology and promise to do fix it and do better. Unfortunately, that was all overshadowed when some of the developers decided to attack some players with angry insults and name-calling, prompting a war of words.

Need for Speed Heat will have zero loot boxes and very limited post launch paid-DLC

In the last couple of months, video game publishers have been hammered with controversy over the use of those poop boxes (I am totes mature). Faced with a mounting backlash and a riot from fans after the Battlefront 2 straw that broke the camel’s back in 2017, EA has begun to roll back on using that extra dash for cash within a select few games, with Need for Speed Heat joining the list.

There are still those who are willing to get up at the crack of dusk and boot up their console to find him for you. People who’ll risk digital life and limb to let you know if Xur is selling a treasure or rubbish. I just so happen to be one of those people. Maybe you’re stuck at work and can only log in later tonight. In that case: Where is Xur?

Gamescom 2019 – When and where to watch the Xbox, Google Stadia and opening night conferences

Unlike E3’s gauntlet of livestreamed events which play out over several unrelenting days at the ungodliest of hours for anyone East of the ol’ GMT timezone, Gamescom is a more focused affair. This year will see three of the big names in gaming take to the stage with plenty of studios spread between them: Microsoft with their Inside Xbox event, Google will host another direct spot of streaming focused on Stadia and Geoff Keighley will host the Gamescom Opening Night festivities.
