Despite a killer month on the charts, Activision still isn’t happy with Destiny 2 sales

Destiny 2 players are happier than ever. That surge in joy could be seen in sales numbers for the game as well, as Destiny 2 was offered for free in September over on PS Plus, resulting in plenty of purchases of its expansion content. Heck, Destiny 2 was pretty much the top-grossing console game of the month, beating even the mighty Fortnite. It apparently wasn’t enough for Activision.

While not as powerful as the mighty Xbox One X (or a decent mid-tier PC these days), the PlayStation Pro is still a lovely machine that’s capable of pumping out some pretty impressive graphics. The other thing it pumps out? Lots of hot air, and a heck of a lot of noise thanks to a thermal design that relies a little too much on very loud fans.

Former EA executive Patrick Söderlund reveals big plans for his new game development studio

A couple of months ago, EA’s chief design officer Patrick Söderlund decided that the time was right for him to part ways with the company. Striking out on his lonesome, Söderlund’s big plan was to venture into game development territory with Embark Studios. Officially revealed this week by Maple Story publisher Nexon over at a Tokyo earnings call, Embark Studios has big plans for the future.

While you’ve got free range of where and how you see your fella in The Sims 4, the default is usually an isometric view as you gaze from the heavens above down at your creation. You can throw divine possession into the mix soon, as last night’s Sims 4 livestream revealed that one of the longest running jokes in the series is about to be an actual function in the game: A first-person camera mode, which will be available in the next update.

The first rebooted hitman was sold off as an episodic game. Despite being a brilliant murder simulator that got the episodic formula so, so right, many consumers didn’t take to it just because it was sold piecemeal. They wanted a finished product, a retail game that they could hold in their hands. And that game is here. With developer IO Interactive nearly murdered themselves when Square Enix decided they were done with Hitman, Warner took the developer and the franchise on, The sequel is, admittedly, more of the same – but when that same is a glorious sandbox that lets you kill people in delightfully inventive ways, that’s a good thing.
