It appears that Sony is becoming more amenable to the idea of further Marvel characters - of which they still retain the cinematic rights - following Spider-Man into the Marvel Cinematic Universe proper. However to get to that point the studio is making a couple of big changes to their current lineup, including making the upcoming Venom film a lot more family-friendly.
