There might be hope for GotG fans yet, as it looks like Marvel is trying to persuade Disney to keep the director on for the third film following earlier controversial tweets that led to him being fired.

It appears that Sony is becoming more amenable to the idea of further Marvel characters - of which they still retain the cinematic rights - following Spider-Man into the Marvel Cinematic Universe proper. However to get to that point the studio is making a couple of big changes to their current lineup, including making the upcoming Venom film a lot more family-friendly.

With half the population of South Africa taking today off work to get in that extra long weekend, I'm not sure if anyone is even going to be around to read this. For the seven of you that are stuck in the office because you didn't book your leave in time, sucks to be you!

The Oscars is far and wide considered to be the very pinnacle when it comes to rewarding quality in filmmaking. It's also considered far and wide to be an elitist, artsy-fartsy circle-jerk. Whereas awards shows like the MTV Movie Awards hand out prizes for those films that are a big hit with the general public, the Oscars focuses purely on technical craft, popularity and box office numbers be damned. But that's apparently now changing.

Disney is pulling out all the stops for their upcoming video streaming service, and that includes a rather hefty price tag for their flagship Star Wars live-action series. A series which may just be taking us to an iconic corner of the Star Wars galaxy we've only ever seen in animated form.

All we've known about the upcoming Birds of Prey movie up until now is that Margot Robbie's Harley Quinn would lead this motley crew. A crew we now know will consist of Black Canary, Huntress, Renee Montoya and Cassandra Cain, and who will face off against Black Mask. Plus, we may even had a lead on who will be playing these DC Comics badasses.

Bel Canto is the upcoming drama from director Paul Weitz that's based on the best-selling novel by Ann Patchett, and stars Julianne Moore. A famous opera singer [Moore] is held hostage in South America by a guerrilla rebel group after performing at a Japanese businessman’s lavish birthday party. Unexpected bonds are forged in the standoff that ensues.
