Fortnite’s account merging tool is finally live

When Sony eventually did allow limited cross-play, Epic said it would be releasing an account merging tool in November last year. At the time, they said it would be available around February this year, and good golly, they’ve delivered on time. Yes, the account merging tool is finally live, allowing players to turn two accounts into one.

If you build it, they will come. If you build it properly, release it out of nowhere and you make it free, then buddy you better prepare yourself for a blitzkrieg of interest. Respawn Entertainment took a hell of a gamble with Apex Legends, releasing a fully playable battle royale experience without any warning prior to some leaks from influencers that had made the trek over to try the game out ahead of time. Point is, is that Respawn has done well this week.

The cult favourite kings of the classic RPG games available at the time, was easily those set in the Forgotten Realms. High fantasy, rules pulled straight from Dungeons ‘n Dragons and gloriously long storylines were the trademarks of these titles. They’ve been around for ages, long enough to earn an enhanced edition or two and even see release on mobile platforms. Now, those classics are finally making the leap to console.

If Final Fantasy wants to distinguish itself for future entries in the franchise, it’s going to need to revisit its roots eventually and recapture the magic that made Square Enix’s original game a breakout success so many years ago. Something that Final Fantasy XIV director and producer Naoki Yoshida would love to see in the next core numbered game.
