The SEGA Mega Drive lives again with Analogue’s Mega SG HD console

Most modern TVs aren’t equipped to transmit the images from a Mega Drive. While you can rely on other solutions such as stealing a 4:3 aspect ration television sets from a high school or the use of emulators, there is another way to get your fix of nostalgia. A more elegant solution, in the form of the Mega SG from retro console producer Analogue.

Hollow Knight is an incredibly rich and detailed game with a massive world to explore. One that was even larger than it is now before a host of content was cut for time.

Destiny 2’s Festival of the Lost finally makes the Infinite Forest worth revisiting

By Darryn Bonthuys

Trekking through the Infinite Forest felt more like a slog than an actual adventure, with its supposedly random simulations of possible timelines being predictable gauntlets of enemies. The latest incarnation of the Festival of the lost changes all that, for the better. Not only is Destiny 2 really taking advantage of the season of spookiness, it’s also offering players a remix of an underutilised area that deserves better.

The New Game Plus mode in Marvel’s Spider-Man isn’t out today after all

By Geoffrey Tim

Marvel’s Spider-Man is a lovely game. While I didn’t especially like some of the open-world fluff in the webhead’s adventures, or some of that forced stealth nonsense, the game more than ably told its story – while also being a delight to play. Swinging around Insomniac’s condensed, idealised version of Manhattan was an absolute delight – leading many to want to do it all again, even though they’ve played the game to completion, with the Platinum trophy to show for it. The impending New Game Plus would be perfect for that – but unfortunately it’s been slightly delayed.

They Are Billions developer Numantian Games details how they’re building an enriching campaign mode

By Darryn Bonthuys

Zombie steampunk strategy game They Are Billions was never just intended to be a thumb-blistering challenge mode of a game. What Numantian Games released this year, was supposed to be a teaser of things to come, a platform that would help bankroll the true aim of the game: A full campaign mode that would flesh out the decaying world of They Are Billions. So where is it? Like all good things in life, getting to the sweet undead nugget of narrative strategy has taken some considerable time to develop.

Today’s Fortnite patch introduces in-game tournaments

By Geoffrey Tim

While it’s currently one of the biggest games in the world right now, Fortnite is hardly the poster child for esports or competitive gaming. That is something epic is intent on changing though, with the game set to eventually become a large-scale competitive title. That progression begins today, with the introduction of in-game Tournaments. Announced last week, they’re in the game thanks to today’s 6.10 patch.
