Agent 47 was a MacGuyver of murder whose trip around the world saw numerous dodgy individuals murdered in increasingly bizarre and creative ways. It’s that creativity which has been the foundation of the entire Hitman franchise, a fact that Hitman 2 wastes no time in reminding you of when you step back into the Italian loafers of 47 as he starts a new contract.

Dontnod Entertainment’s Life is Strange found a considerable fan base despite its shortcomings. The drop in quality of Telltale’s work in the field of episodic adventure games left a nice niche for the prior’s hella (ulgh) mysterious millennial journey and cemented the title as a franchise. The studio’s latest work, however, is of a different nature.

Forza Horizon 4 is all about refinement, but its new seasons systems does a lot to push the series in a new interesting direction.

Activision and developer Treyarch are going all in on online services this year. If Call of Duty isn’t going to spend obscene amounts of cash on providing a narrative structure, then fans are well within their rights to expect a tighter and even more polished multiplayer offering.

We won’t be seeing a new “core” Pokémon coming to Nintendo’s Switch until next year at the earliest, but until then there’s a new game coming to satiate critter-catching Switch owners. E3 is a juggernaut of an expo, an annual extravaganza that showcases the best games coming over the next year of three. Because we’re a small, underfunded site in the scheme of things, we usually take the time that we have here to get as many behind closed door appointments as possible, only stepping on to the actual showroom to take in its spectacle in brief flashes as we run from appointment to appointment in a flurry, trying to play as much as possible in the short time we have here.

How does Destiny 2 plan to hook lapsed players back into its fold come September? With a mode that marries the best aspects of both its favoured modes, into one cohesive game of action, treachery and a race against time.

For years, I’ve lamented the sad, sad treatment that Capcom’s blue bomber has endured. As a longtime fan, the cancellation of multiple games and the resulting deprecation of the lemon-slinger’s status has been dispiriting. I left the brief demo with an indelible smile that’s persisted hours later. I’m a happy Mega Man fan, and I can’t wait for this new game to come in October.
