In just over a week, the second showing of Cape Town's very own comic book convention FanCon kicks off. We sat down with the organizers to discuss how they've pulled this off.

Which Thor are you in the market for? Jane Foster’s hammer-wielding maiden of might? The original Thor who happens to be missing a hammer and his left arm? Or that strange new War Thor who wields the hammer of the Ultimate universe Thor and somehow managed to escape from an episode of Doctor Who? How about all three Thors?

Back when the first Guardians of the Galaxy debuted, Star Lord was one of the hottest collectible action figures ever made. The original run from Hot Toys became sought-after and stupidly expensive over on eBay, because that’s how limited supply and demand works. There’s a second chance on the horizon however, as a sequel to GOTG the first means that it’s high time for a sequel figure. One that looks dashing.

X-Men: Blue is the second core team book out right now, starring a younger time-displaced team of the original X-Men: Jean Grey, Cyclps, Beast, Angel and Iceman. Stuck in a future that has been nothing but hostile to them, the Blue Team is looking to redeem their future selves for some terrible mistakes made when the Phoenix Force returned to Earth. But just how far are they willing to go?

Injustice 2 may only be out in shops in May, but the sequel comic book series is already live with a first issue that sets the scene for an even bigger confrontation between the Man of Steel and the Dark Knight, as the two former friends find themselves stuck in a world that trusts its heroes a lot less.

X-Men Gold artist Ardian Syaf has caused plenty of controversy and outrage by covertly inserting supposed anti-Christian and anti-Semitic messages into his artwork.

The Flash will soon meet up with Jay Garrick as the two pursue Eobard Thawne and his memories of the universe before the Flashpoint Paradox occurred, as well as a certain darker knight. That’d be Thomas Wayne, who donned the cape and cowl of the Batman when the Flashpoint universe saw Bruce Wayne die that night in Crime Alley, a death that split the Waynes apart and fractured both of their minds. Two Batmen, who have a mystery to solve in the wake of DC Rebirth.

Hot Toys have announced a newish Iron man figure for the collection. It’s essentially the Mark 41 Bones armour with fresher colours, or in the paraphrased words of Waylon Smithers: He’s got a new hat! Check it out below.
