It seems that there are more people playing 2015’s Call of Duty: Black Ops III than there are people still playing last year’s damp-squib space epic, Infinite Warfare. If space is the final frontier, then everything in it is a bastard. That’s the lesson that I took home from Cryptark, a game of many parts that mesh together to create a salvage-stealing machine. On first glance, Cryptark takes the form of a 2D twin-stick shooter in space that has you exploring the husky remains of derelict spacecraft in pursuit of some of that sweet sweet loot.

Night Trap might have been the logical end-point for horror movies, an interactive film that sold itself with scantily-clad ladies, quick jump-scares and gameplay that made no sense. Choose-your-own adventure but for nihilists, I’ll still give it points for its ballsiness. It’s making a comeback after 25 years, its original video content fully remastered.
