Friday the 13th is one of those film franchises that serves a perfect case study for creative evolution and saturation of the genre. It also makes for an awesome late-night movie marathon whose final entries leave you smiling instead of grimacing. Steam was lambasted for prudishly removing games and visual novels that featured sexual content, and as a result decided to take a more hands-off approach to content curation. Valve decided that it shouldn’t be deciding what’s morally right or wrong. They did, however, draw the line at games that were games that were illegal or “straight up trolling.”

Last week even saw THQ Nordic hit another milestone: A marketing blunder. It all started when the publisher decided to host an “Ask Me Anything” session, an interactive Q&A usually seen on social platforms such as reddit. Only problem? THQ Nordic decided to host their AMA on…8Chan.

With Resident Evil 2 being out on PC, some fans have decided to have some fun with Mr X and crank out a few mods for whenever the character appears, such as the recently released Mr DMX mod that is definitely gonna give it to ya. Even that pales in comparison to the other mod that has just been released, which transforms the hulking zombie into beloved children's icon Thomas the Tank Engine.

By Geoffrey Tim

Last month, despite making record revenue, Activision-Blizzard laid off 8 per cent of its global workforce, leaving nearly eight hundred people out of work. The large-scale restructuring is an attempt to appease shareholders by cutting expenses. In its Form 10-K report, however, the company has admitted that the layoffs might not pad executive and shareholder wallets as much as anticipated – and that shockingly, firing a bunch of people may have a negative impact on staff morale.
