What was your favourite game in your local arcade? What did you pump token into token after, mastering and etching your three initial name into the eternal scoreboards of? Was it Time Crisis and its superb mixture of light-gun duck and cover action?

Revealed last night at the Black Ops IIII event in sunny Los Angeles, developer Treyarch’s take on the battle royale mode is called Blackout. All the action that you’d expect of Call of Duty, spread across a wide map, characters and plenty of weapons. Well, minus the massive player count, because Treyarch is undecided yet on just how many players it’ll allow into any given session of Blackout.

When it comes to exclusives, the Xbox One isn’t doing as well as its fans had hopes. While the Xbox One X is undoubtedly the best place to play third party console games, first party output has been lacking, especially when compared to Sony and Nintendo. If there’s something that could get fans excited, it’d be a brand new Halo. And one is coming! Unfortunately, it’s not the Halo game fans have been expecting.

That first foray into New York in The Division will likely see scores of agents leave that city soon, as Ubisoft is pushing forward on a sequel later this year. And this time, there’s going to be a lot more to do after the credits have rolled.

It looks like the rumours were true! For a while now, rumours have abounded that Call of Duty Black Ops 4 would be home to a new Battle Royale mode. As revealed by Treyarch at today’s community reveal event, it looks like that’s completely true. Call of Duty will have its own every-man-for-himself 100 player mode.

Of course Call of Duty: Zombies is back. Originally a hidden bonus mode, it’s become a fan favourite for players who love a cooperative take on Call of Duty. This year, it’s a brand-new storyline for zombies that draws from history both real and mythological.

Set between Black Ops 2 and 3, the multiplayer is completely grounded. There are fancy, futuristic weapons and gadgets, along with crazy slides – but most of the action has soldiers with their feet on terra firma. There are no thrust jumps, no wallruns – but the fast, fluid movement you had in Black Ops

These days, cheat codes are all but dead. One game that is keeping it old school however? None other than Pillars of Eternity 2: Deadfire, which balances its tight RPG gameplay and lengthy narrative with good ol’ classic cheats. There is a caveat here though: Entering cheats will disable any achievements on that save file, so proceed at your own caution.
