If you’re old and grumpy, Snapchat is a mindboggling thing. Beyond seemingly pointless, old fuddy-duddies like me struggle with the ephemeral-message social network’s interface, which is unwieldy and counter-intuitive. A change is coming - and it could be around as early as December 4.

Logitech’s Harmony devices are wonderful universal remotes that allow users to control an entire suite of devices from one controller, or through a single app. The Harmony Link, released in 2011 allowed for just that. A puck-like device, it let users use their smartphones or tablets function as a universal remote. And next year, Logitech is remotely disabling them. In an email sent to users, Logitech says that in March 2018, Logitech Harmony Link devices will cease functioning.
